North Braes Bayou
A complete interior transformation of conventional ranch style spaces makes this mid-century house more modern now than when it was originally built. Rather than maintaining the enclosures that defined yet separated the public program, we created one open space and let the “wooden boxes” gently organize activity areas. A newly opened north wall in the dining room makes this space one of the most desirable in the house. The owners love of nature and coastal places is expressed in the exposed wood veneers and our choices of polished, aquatic-like finishes and a built-in salt-water fish tank.
